November PD Date Change

Please note: We need to change the November 7th Principal PD date due to the ISEE administration at your buildings. We will probably return to the November 14th date. Please plan to log in observations in TeachPoint prior to the PD day. I apologize for any confusion. The PD calendar link is on the right lower side of this blog under "Important Links."

Operational Leaders Assigned

We expect to have a more comprehensive list of liaisons soon. Meanwhile, we still have Operational Leaders. Regions 2, 3 and HS have dedicated OLs. A Region 1 OL search is underway. Right now, the current OLs are divided up this way:

August Leadership Institute 2019 - Follow Up

Thank you for kicking off the 2019-2020 school year strong with us at ALI 2019! We enjoyed getting to explore the BPS Core Values of Joy, Unity, Inclusion, Collaboration, and Equity together, reflect on leadership, and dive into content sessions together. We are so excited for the year ahead!

Below are a few follow up items and documents from ALI. Feel forward to share this with others at your school who attended ALI or would like to check out what we worked on.

• End of Day Surveys for Feedback and PDPs due EOD Thurs 8/22: Your feedback is important to us and guides how we plan and structure your learning throughout the year as well as the direction of ALI next year. Please complete the survey for any day you have not yet completed. Please note: PDPs are counted by survey completion. In order to receive PDPs for your attendance and participation, you must complete the survey for each day.

• Superintendent Cassellius’ Story: During ALI, Superintendent Cassellius shared her personal story and “why” behind what drives to serve as the Superintendent of the Boston Public Schools. A brief, written version of her story can be found here.
• How to Order JUICE and #BPSProud Buttons for your School: Here you can find a document outlining how your school can purchase JUICE or #BPSProud Buttons as well as links to the graphics used. 
• Accessing Session Materials: You can access session information, workshop resources, and the end of day Surveys on the ALI 2019 webpage. The ALI team is following up with presenters to fill in missing materials as soon as possible.
• Professional Development: We’ll be following up with you soon about PLCs and professional development dates for the upcoming school year.
