Post #5 - MA Standards Resources

Looking forward to visiting all of you this week!

  • I have a schedule put together that has me visiting 26 schools by next Thursday, September 13th and the 27th school on Friday, September 14th. The purpose of my visit is to walk through with you, say hello to staff, and thank your custodians for their diligence and hard work during the hottest summer in 150 years. The 2.5 hour meetings will start Monday, September 17. I have sent calendar invites for visits through October 25, 2018. Here is the <link> to the coaching calendar and postings. At the bottom of the page, you can sign up for alerts whenever anything is added to the blog.

Massachusetts Frameworks - Resources, One-pagers, etc...
The Massachusetts DESE has updated its grade level standards-based look-for's in ELA, Math, and Science. Documents are aligned to the 2017 Frameworks and available through high school. Here is a link to a <folder> where the documents called "Look-fors" are already downloaded.

MA Standards App for your Phone!

Here is a free very handy app from <Mastery Connect> that has Massachusetts Standards in ELA, Math, and Science. I will use this to match posted objectives and standards when we observe in classrooms.

Assessment Choice
Jodi and I are meeting with ODA this afternoon to discuss MAP/Lexia literacy assessments. We hope to communicate decisions to you ASAP. Those of you who responded to the survey will have students loaded into the assessment system. If you did not respond, the sync process may not happen until September 11.

External Affairs Wants to Hear from You

The Office of External Affairs is asking school leaders or designee to fill out this five minute <survey> in order to better direct philanthropic opportunities more strategically.  *note: if you are completing on mobile, it works best if you turn your phone horizontally.
